Announcing Good Food for Thought

Georgia Organics has always been a convener.  

For more than 23 years, we have brought people together from every corner of our state and beyond for good food events and, most notably, for our annual Conference & Expo. 

The Georgia Organics Conference & Expo has always represented a place to gather, learn, and celebrate, with plenty of hugs and handshakes in between. While nothing sounds better than to come together again for Conference weekend, the COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us to re-envision our work.

Which is why, with heavy heart, Georgia Organics announces the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Georgia Organics Conference & Expo scheduled to be in Columbus, GA. We are mourning the fact that, for the first time in 23 years, we will not convene in person, however, we trust this is the safest, smartest decision. 

We have instead shifted our focus on bold new opportunities to bring Georgians together around a virtual table and are excited to announce the launch of Good Food for Thought. 

Good Food for Thought will serve as our new educational initiative offering opportunities for continued learning and convening, year-round, through panel discussions and webinars along with video resources, digital toolkits, podcast episodes, and more. Within this virtual space, we’ll continue to foster connection while also removing the geographic and financial barriers presented by traditional, in-person events.

Through our annual Conference, our aim above all has been to foster community.  Good Food for Thought will continue to carry this torch by providing virtual and, one day again, in-person spaces for coming together to grow a better, more equitable, and resilient food movement. 

Good Food for Thought programming will be hosted at gfft.georgiaorganics.org and updates will be shared via Georgia Organics social media and email, so be sure to stay tuned.
